The secretary reported that the president of the board had notified him of the appointment of Mr. Lehman as Chairman of the Committee on Finance in place of Mr. McLean, deceased, and of the appointment of Mrs. Busey as a memiber of the committee. STUDENT'S FEES. The registrar presented a statement of the fees due from students attending the University summer session in 1907 and the College of Medicine summer session in 1907. These reports were referred to the Finance Committee. The following report of the Finance Committee was adopted on motion of Mr. Lehman: U R B A N A , I L L I N O I S , D e c e m b e r 10, 1907. To the Board of Trustees. Y o u r Committee on F i n a n c e recommends— 1. T h a t t h e r e g i s t r a r be a u t h o r i z e d t o give s t u d e n t s leaving t h e University for good reason, before t h e m i d d l e of t h e semester,, r e b a t e checks for half of a n y i n c i d e n t a l fees paid, or of fees paid as special or conditioned s t u d e n t s , provided such r e b a t e s a r e asked for before t h e end of t h e semester. 2. T h a t a s t u d e n t e n t e r i n g t h e University after t h e middle of t h e semester be c h a r g e d b u t half t h e i n c i d e n t a l fee, a n d b u t half of t h e condition or special fee, if h e be a special or conditioned s t u d e n t . 3. T h a t a d j u s t m e n t s of fees for a n y semester shall, after t h e close of t h e semester, b e m a d e b y t h e business office. Respectfully s u b m i t t e d , L E W I S L.
