12. A request from the committee of the class of 1908 that the said class be permitted to erect a bronze memorial tablet in the Auditorium as a gift to the University. Voted on motion of Mrs. Alexander that the President of the University may accept such gift upon the recommendation of a committee appointed by him to pass upon its artistic merits and to recommend the exact place of its erection in the Auditorium. PURCHASE OF BAND INSTRUMENTS.

URBANA, ILLINOIS, December 10, 1907.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your special committee on purchase of musical instruments recommends that the Purchasing Agent secure the band instruments, selecting them from the attached bids after consultation with the President of the University and representatives from the School of Music, the whole purchase price not to exceed the appropriation. Respectfully submitted,

Committee. Dr. Davison moved the adoption of the report. Mrs. Alexander moved that the report be recommitted. This motion was lost, and the motion to adopt was then passed.

SCHOOL OF PHARMACY.

Dr. Davison from the Committee on the School of Pharmacy reported progress, and asked for further time, which was granted.

COLLEGE OP MEDICINE.

Dr. Davison from the Committee on the College of Medicine reported progress, and asked for further time, which was granted.

COLLEGE OE AGRICULTURE.

Mr. Hatch from the Committee on Agriculture presented the following report, and moved its adoption:

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: In behalf of the Committee on Agriculture, to which certain questions have been referred, I beg to report as follows: 1. The matter of changes in the general gffices of the Agricultural Building was referred to this committee with power and it reports that such changes have been authorized as per the plans presented. For this purpose the committee requests an appropriation of $1,500 to cover the estimates of the surpervising architect. 2. The question of dispatching a member of the dairy department to the dairy regions of northern Europe was referred to this committee for recommendation. I t appears that in connection with the experiments in progress in intensive dairying it is well to secure all the information possible of processes now in vogue in northern Europe. The information needed is not of the character which a teacher would be expected to possess himself; it is
