338 UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. [Aug. 26, Dr. James then formally accepted the Presidency of the University. Mr. McLean offered the following resolution, which was adopted: Resolved, That the Committee on Buildings and Grounds be instructed to make careful investigation as to the needs of the University for new buildings, and be prepared to present to the Board a careful statement with regard to such buildings, in order that the Trustees may be ready to ask the legislature for appropriations therefor.
