UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS.

Mr. Smith made a statement with regard to the relations of the Board with Mr. Hedges, tenant on the south farm, and advised that the Board get possession of the farm by the first of Maroh next, paying the tenent for the release of all claims upon said farm. Thereupon Mr. McLean moved that the farm committee agree with the tenent on the south farm to leave the same on the first of March next and pay him for so doing a satisfactory sum such as might be agreed upon, not exceeding $500. Mr. Hatch offered the following as a substitute: URBANA, I I I . , July 6,1901. to the Board oj Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your Committee to which was referred the matter of the leasing of the south farm begs leave to report that we can make no arrangement satisfactory to ourselves; therefore, we recommend that the tenant, Mr. Hedges, be allowed to remain another year, as this will satisfy him. Bespectfully submitted,

The substitute was adopted. Mr. McLean offered the following resolution whioh was adopted: Resolved, That a sufficient amount of money be appropriated for the purpose of opening the tile deliveries on the farm occupied by Mr. Hedges and that the same be expended under the supervision of Mr. Hatch, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, and that the Committee report to the Board. The board adjourned.
