On motion of Mr. Raymond, $600 was appropriated to pay farm hands for the six months ending Dec. 31, 1898. Also on motion of Mr. Raymond, the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds was directed to have the noxious weeds on the rifle range destroyed. The matter of the drain through the forest and on the road east thereof was referred to the Farm Committee to report at the December meeting. On motion of Mr. Bullard it was voted to appoint a committee consisting of the President of the University, the President of the Board, and three other members of the Board to consider what appropria-* tions should be asked of the next Legislature, and to report thereon at the December meeting of the Board. Messrs. McLean, Bullard, and Armstrong were appointed upon this committee. I t was voted to ask Professor Ricker, Professor White, and the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds to investigate the condition of the walls and the heating and ventilation of Library Hall, and to report thereon at the December meeting of the Board. On motion of Mr. Raymond, it was voted to invite the State Farmers' Institute to hold its next regular meeting at the University and to tender to the Institute the use of such rooms and other facilities at the University as it might need. President McKay appointed Mrs. Flower and Messrs. Bullard and Armstrong the Special Committee to consider the proposition of the Illinois College of Dentistry. On motion of Mr. McLean it was voted to adjourn to meet in the office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, in Springfield, at 9 o'clock a. m„ Thursday, September 29, 1898.
