A p p r o p r i a t i o n s were m a d e of E x p e r i m e n t S t a t i o n funds a c c o r d i n g to t h e e s t i m a t e by t h e Director. T h e P r e s i d e n t r e p o r t e d t h a t t h e F a c u l t y of t h e U n i v e r s i t y recomm e n d e d Mr, C. M. L e w i s for t h e degree of B . S. in A r c h i t e c t u r e , h e h a v i n g completed t h e course in d u e form, a n d t h e B o a r d a u t h o r i z e d t h e President* to confer t h e degree. A p p r o p r i a t i o n s were m a d e according to t h e r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s of t h e following p a p e r : To the Board of Trustees: I respectfully recommend *the following* appropriations to departments: 1. For the Astronomical Department, the sum of $100 for apparatus, viz.: a barometer. 2. For the Department of Mechanical Engineering, $150 for unusual operating expenses in the laboratory. 3. For the Department of Agriculture, the sum of $250 for the purchase of cows and apparatus, in preparation for the Winter School. 4. For the Department of Physics, the sum of $600 for apparatus. 5. That the sum of $95 be appropriated to the Department of Zoology for apparatus for the class in embryology. Bespectfully submitted,
