SCHOOL OF PHARMACY.

359

The indications for the coming session point to a larger attendance, and with the propective establishment of the post-graduate course and the additions to the equipment of the school, the prospects for the future are bright. Excepting only the physician, there is no person who holds such a responsible position, in regard to the public health, as does the pharmacist. To fit him for the assumption of this responsibility, a special training, such as is afforded by the best schools of pharmacy, is necessary. The scope of his training must be continually extended to keep pace with new duties and increasing demands upon the pharmacist's knowledge and skill. The University is to be commended for its efforts toward providing better facilities for the acquisition of: this knowledge and skill and toward the elevation of the standard by which these attainments are judged. Respectfully submitted, W. B. DAY. Secretary of the Faculty.
