south line of University avenue, and hereby appropriates the sum of $3,000.00 for the improvement of the same, in accordance with the recommendations presented by the Athletic Advisory Board, and that such improvement be made under the direction of the Committee on Buildings and Grounds as fast as funds in hand shall justfiy.

REPORT OF FINANCE COMMITTEE.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. © Your Finance Committee begs leave to report that it has examined the vouchers submitted by the Business Manager on which warrants have been issued and paid as follows: General University warrants, Nos. 1,326 to 2,050, inclusive, except No. 2,040; Agricultural Experiment Station warrants, No. 189 to 325, inclusive; State Laboratory of Natural History warrants, Nos. 177 to 248, inclusive, except No. 225; School of Pharmacy warrants, Nos. 120 to 168, inclusive; School of Medicine warrants, Nos, 207 to 315, inclusive, and has found the same correct and duly receipted. Your committee also examined the report of the Treasurer of the University, Elbridge G. Keith, for the quarter ending March>31, 1898, and found that the receipts for the quaiter, together with the balances on hand, amounted to $102,171.89; that the amount paid out on warrants drawn through the quarter was $78,614.42, including overdrafts on funds of the School of Pharmacy and of the State Laboratory of Natural History, amounting to $1,620.65; that the Experiment Station balance and the School of Medicine balance amount to $25,178.12.
