GENTLEMEN: Your finance committee recommends that, complying so far as practicable with t h e requests made by men in charge of t h e several departments of t h e University, t h e following appropriations be made: To the geological department To the department of physics For publications relating to political science.. Mr. Swenson's bill for $38.39 for service rendered a t t h e World's Columbian Exposition was ordered paid. The appointment of Mr. Farrington, as a delegate to t h e Association of American Agricultural Colleges and Experiment Stations, was approved. Also t h e appointment of Mr. W. A. Powers, as assistant chemist to the Station. The appropriations from station funds were made for t h e use of t h e Station in accordance with estimates presented in paper E of t h e station report. Mr. Raymond was appointed a delegate to represent t h e University at t h e meeting of t h e Association of American Agricultural Colleges and Expsriment Stations, to be held in Chicago, in October next. The farm committee presented t h e following statement of sales, which was received for record : U R B A N A, I I I . , September 12, 1893.
