The committee has examined the financial statement of t h e board of direction of t h e Experiment Station, showing its expenditures for t h e year ending June 30, 1893, to be $15,070, and approves t h e same as correct. Respectfully submitted,

The committee on instruction made t h e following report, which was approved :

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN:—Your committee on instruction, after consultation with t h e regent and t h e deans of t h e several colleges, begs leave to report t h e constitution of t h e faculty as follows : The faculty shall be composed of t h e professors and assistant professors, and t h e heads of t h e departments. On motion of Mr. McKay, Mr. Raab, Mr. Armstrong, and t h e secretary were appointed a committee to look after receiving from t h e Illinois Board of World's Fair Commissioners such collections and other material as were to come to t h e University in accordance with t h e joint resolution of the General Assembly, passed June 7-15, 1893. The finance committee made t h e following report, which was approved:

GENTLEMEN:—Your finance committee recommends t h a t t h e following appropriations be made from t h e funds of t h e State Laboratory of Natural Histoiy for t h e six months ending Dec. 31, 1893: For t h e improvement of t h e library .$1,000 00 For salaries and assistants 1,750 00 For t h e publication of bulletins 500 00 For illustration of t h e report of t h e state entomologist 250 00 For drawings of fishes 600 00 Respectfully submitted,

The executive committee made t h e following report: To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN:—Your executive committee, a t a meeting held Aug. 16r 1893, Messrs. Graham and Bullard being present, transacted t h e following business: From current funds $500 was appropriated for board expenses. From state appropriation for engineering hall $100 was appropriated t o meet expenses of advertisement for competitive designs and for bids from contractors. For t h e purpose of making desired changes in t h e regent's office and the room west of it, so t h a t they may be suitably fitted up for t h e use of t h e regent, t h e registrar, and t h e business agent, and for furnishing same; also for fitting up and furnishing rooms for t h e preparatory school in t h e basement of t h e west wing of University Hall, and for additional furniture needed in other class rooms t h e sum of $1,300 was appropriated from current funds.
