At your last meeting an exhibition by the University at the World's Columbian Exposition was authorized, and the matter was referred to the Faculty. Progress has been made. I herewith present an outline of the proposed exhibit by the various departments of the University, together with estimates of cost and space for the same.

Graphic representations illustrating history and growth of the University, 6 square feet. Collection of publications of the University, 6 square feet. Pamphlets and other descriptive publications of the various colleges, $1,000.

Maps of farms and Station experiment plats—showing divisions, drainage, crops. Photographs of buildings, as barns, Station warehouse, veterinary building, illustrating clinic, with plans of interiors. Photographs of farm animals, illustrating breeds a n l development at different ages. Samples of soils, in glass faced boxes, showing s lis in natural condition as nearly as possible. Samples of farm and horticultural products; species and varieties of gra ns, grasses, clovers, forage and root crops: fruits and vegetables. Grains to be shown in stalk and as threshed. Perishable products, as grapes, by wax or plaster casts. Woods in variety, and illustrating growth at different ages, from forestry plantation and University collections. Chemical analyses of grains, grasses, fruits, vegetables, milk, soils, etc., showing composition by charts, and by representation of the actual and comparative quantity of the different elements in a given quantity of the substance analyzed. Thus, show a cubic foot of soil and, alongside, the quantity of sand, clay, lime, iron, vegetable matter contained in it. Show a quart of corn and the quantity of starch, sugar, oil, water, ash, etc., composing it. These to be in glass' jars. Charts showing results of experiments on growth of plants, in feeding and dairying. Thus, the growth of corn during each week of the season, with percentage of water and solid matter at each period. The quantity of milk and the butter fat it contains given by cows of different breeds under like conditions and as influenced by feed, etc. Instructors' desks—showing text books, etc. Illustrative apparatus used by instructors in agriculture, horticulture, and veterinary science.
