To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN: Your Finance Committee has examined t h e quarterly report of Jon W. Bunn, Treasurer of the University, and finds t h e same to he correct, and t h a t there is cash in t h e treasury to t h e amount of $9,535.79.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN: Your Finance Committee would respectfully report t h a t it has examined and compared the books of the Treasurer with t h e warrants drawn upon him for t h e year beginning March 1, 1889, with Nos. 426 to 873, to September 1, 1889, and ]STos. 1 to 500 to March 1, 1890, and found all to be in order and correct. The warrants have been cancelled and left in t h e hands of the Treasurer.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN: Your Finance Committee has examined the vouchers of the University, numbered from 450 to 700, both inclusive, also vouchers of t h e Experiment Station ISTos. 600 to 676, both inclusive, and finds them correct. f. The committee appointed to prepare a resolution in regard t o Lieut. Hoppin's departure, reported as follows:

Besolved, That t h e Board of Trustees of t h e University of Illinois sincerely regrets t h a t t h e rules of t h e War Department require t h a t Lieut. Curtis B. Hoppin shall sever hfs connection with t h e University. He has brought to t h e discharge of all his official duties a degree of ability, tact, and fidelity, t h a t has made his services eminently satisfactory to t h e students, to t h e Faculty, and to this Board. His influence over t h e students in raising the standard of deportment and discipline has been of the most salutary character. He leaves the University with the best wishes of this Board for his future welfare.

The report was adopted for record, and the Secretary was instructed t o send a copy to Lieut. Hoppin. The Farm Committee, to whom had been referred the farm report, returned it with the recommendation that it be filed. Approved. There was appropriated
