UNIVERSITY O F ILLINOIS.

Mr. E. H. Farrington accepted your appointment as Assistant Chemist of t h e Station, at a salary of $1,500 per year, and began work January 1, 1890. His work has been entirely satisfactory. The Board of Direction has reappointed t h e Station staff for t h e ensuing year, beginning April 1, 1890, with salaries as at- present, and asks t h a t its action be confirmed. EVENING SESSION.

When the Board met in the evening a t the Doane Honse, pursuant to adjournment, the same members were present as in the afternoon, and also Mr. McKay. The recommendations of the Regent's report and other University matters were discussed. The Business Agent's report was received as follows:
