\ On motion, nineteen dollars was appropriated from state appropriations for cabinets, for purchase of fossil fish. On motion, sixty-six dollars and eighteen cents was appropriated from current funds in payment of Mr. Bennett's bill for expenses in examining lands.

Professor Shattuck was appointed t o fill Dr. Peabody's place on the Committee on Minnesota Lands during his absence. On motion of Mr. Cobb, it was voted that until the next meeting of the Board the committee have power t o sell other lands. The Executive Committee also reported that Sept. 20, 1889, it had received from Professor Theo. B. Comstock his declination of the appointment for this college year t o the professorship of mining engineering, and t h a t it had accepted the same. The action of the committee was confirmed. The usual quarterly appropriations for the State Laboratory of Natural History were made for the ensuing quarter, on motion of Mr. Shawhan. The Finance Committee reported as follows:

To the Trustees of the University of Illinois. Your Finance Committee begs leave to report t h a t i t has examined t h e vouchers of t h e Experiment Station, numbering from 475 to 535, inclusive, except 530; also t h e vouchers of t h e University, numbering from 838 to 873, inclusive, and 1 to 200, inclusive, and rinds them to be correct.
