UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS.

MEETING OF DECEMBER 10, 1889.

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met in t h e University parlor, in Urbana, a t 3:30 o'clock p. m., December 10, 1889. The members present were Messrs. Bennett, Bujlard, Clemens, Cobb, Haskell, McKay, McLean, and S h a w h a n ; absent, Governor Fifer, and Messrs. Edwards, Harker, and Millard. The minutes of the last meeting were approved. The Executive Committee reported t a k i n g the following action:

R E P O R T O F EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois it was resolved as follows: WHEREAS, Dr. Selim H. Peabody, Regent of said University of Illinois, has been granted leave of absence from the University on account of ill health, Therefore, be it resolved, That Professor Thomas J. Burrill be and is hereby appointed to act as Regent and be known as Acting Regent of the University of Illinois until the next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees. Besolved, That Professor George E. Morrow be and is hereby appointed to act as President and be known as Acting President of the Board of Direction of the Experiment Station until the next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees. Nov. 2, 1889. On motion of Mr. Bullard, t h e action of the Executive Committee was confirmed, as reported. On further motion by Mr. Bullard, it was voted t o continue Professor Burrill as Acting Regent of the University, and P r o fessor Morrow as Acting President of the Board of Direction of t h e Experiment Station during Dr. P e a b o d y ' s absence. The Acting Regent was then called upon for his report, which was presented as follows:
