UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS.

On motion, Regent S. H. Peabody was appointed a member of said Board of Direction, and President thereof. The Presidents and Secretaries of the several organizations previously referred to appeared before the Board, and nominated the following named persons as representatives of their respective organizations, to-wit: For the State Board of Agriculture, E. E. Chester, of Champaign county. For the State Horticultural Society, J. T. Johnson, of Hancock county. For the State Dairymen's Association, H. B. Gurler, of DeKalb county. , On motion, each of the persons so nominated was appointed a member of the* Board of Direction. On motion, Emory Cobb, of Kankakee, and Burden Pullen, of Centralia, from the Board of Trustees; and George E. Morrow, T. J. Burrill and William McMurtrie, from the Faculty of the University, were severally appointed members of the Board of Direction. On motion, Messrs. Cobb and Chester were appointed as the members of the Board of Direction, who, together with the President, should constitute the Executive Committee thereof. On motion, the Executive Committee of the Trustees of the University wTas authorized to take such action pursuant to the plan of organization, adopted by the Trustees, and to the act :of congress, as may be necessary to bring the Station into action in the earliest and most efficient manner.
