184 UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. McClurg & Co., of Chicago.- The difference in prices has ordinarily been quite small, but there has always been difference enough so that there could be no doubt who gave the best terms. By obtaining from the different professors advice as to what is needed in their lines of teaching, a working library is obtained and kept up though the income of the library has never been sufficient for anything like what is desired and desirable. I have at present no recommendations to make.
