Accredited High Schools.—In addition to the examining schools above mentioned, the faculty are authorized, after personal examination, to appoint accredited high schools, whose graduates may be admitted to the University without further examination. These must be schools of first-rate character, whose courses of instruction include all the studies required for admission to some one of the colleges of the University. On application, a member of the faculty is sent to examine the school making the application, as to its facilities for teaching, its course and methods of instruction, and the general proficiency shown. If the report is favorable, the name of the school is entered on the published list of high schools, accredited by the University. The graduates of these schools are admitted to any of the colleges for which their studies may have prepared them. T h e appointment continues as long as the work of the school is found satisfactory.

DORMITORIES AND BOARD.

There are in the University buildings about one hundred private rooms, which are rented to the students who first apply. Most of the rooms are of ample size for two students. All are without furniture. There are many boarding houses near the University where either table board, or board and rooms can be obtained, with the advantages
