LAWS RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY.

An act making an Appropriation in aid of the Industrial University, and for payment of Taxes on Land held by the State for use of said Institution.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That there be and hereby is appropriated to the Industrial University at Urbana, in aid of the experiments in progress upon the experimental farm, the sum of fifteen hundred dollars. For the payment of taxes accruing in the years 1872 and 1873 on lands owned and held by the State for the use of said Institution, in the county of Gage in the State of Nebraska, and in the counties of Pope, Kandigoh and Reuville, in the State of Minnesota, the sum of three thousand dollars per annum. § 2. The Auditor of State is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer for the sum herein appropriated, upon the order of the Board of Trustees, signed by the President, and attested by the Secretary, with the corporate seal of the Institution: Provided, that no part of this money shall be due and payable to the said Institution, until satisfactory vouchers, in detail, approved by the Governor, have been filed with the Auditor for the expenditure of all sums previously drawn. § 3, This appropriation shall be and continue in force from the first day of July, 1873, until the expiration of the first fiscal quarter after the adjournment of the next General Assembly.
