Exhibits, tours and demonstrations relating to ACES academic programs, University admissions and financial aid, and the following majors: Agricultural and Consumer Economics; Ag Communications and Education; Animal Sciences; Crop Sciences; Food Science and Human Nutrition; Human and Community Development and Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Accessible entrances on north and south sides of the building.

Funk ACES Library Tours

The Funk Library of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences is one of the newest libraries on campus. The “Jewel of the ACES Campus” offers students public computer access, a number of sophisticated computer instructional spaces, an extensive library of agricultural literature, group study rooms and a wonderful environment to study and meet. Tours will be offered at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. on Saturday. Tours depart from the second floor circulation desk.

Career Talk: An Open Forum Monsanto Room, ACES Library Friday: 12:30 & 2:00 pm and Saturday: 11:00 am & 12:30 pm Graduates from the College of ACES are in high demand as employment opportunities for graduates with expertise in the food, agricultural and natural resources systems are expected to remain strong. More than 52,000 annual job openings are expected with only 49,300 graduates to fill them. Career Talk is presented by ACES Career Services and the ACES Alumni Association staff who will answer your questions about the job market and career opportunities that await ACES graduates. Impact Assessment of International Experiential Learning Morgan Room, ACES Library What are the real impacts of study abroad programs? This student examined how these programs impacted participant’s future careers and educational decisions, as well as their views towards different cultures and ideas. Data from this project will be used to secure funding for future study abroad programs. An ACES James Scholar project presented by Karen A. Nelson (Monmouth, IL).

Agricultural and Consumer Economics Club Morgan Room, ACES Library Visit the ACE club booth to learn how students get involved in the ACE department on campus. Participate in an interactive game to test your knowledge of the ACE department and earn a chance to win prizes. How Does President Bush’s Marriage Initiative Affect Children? Morgan Room, ACES Library Examine this project and the implications of President Bush’s Marriage Initiative by analyzing a dataset provided by one of the experimental sites. An ACES James Scholar project presented by Jill Mueller (Mount Prospect, IL). Farm Accounting Systems Morgan Room, ACES Library Discover how student research developed the FAST Tools Balance Sheet! An ACES James Scholar project presented by Daniel J. Nugent (Manhattan, IL).
