Quail Brooder House (ANSC 467) First Floor, ASL Opportunities await students in Animal Sciences! Learn how students enrolled in ANSC 467 developed a scale model of a possible quail brooder facility located on the outskirts of Champaign. Hill Country Institute for the Training of Service Dogs (ANSC 467) First Floor, ASL Animal Sciences classes allow students hands-on experience. See a small building design, approximately 2ft x 2ft x 2ft, that represents ideal housing for service dogs. African Buffalo Housing Facility (ANSC 467) First Floor, ASL Visit a wood model of an African Buffalo late gestation and calving boma. This demonstrates the method of keeping wild African mammals in captivity, most commonly used in South Africa.

The Role of PTHrP and PTH/PTHrP Receptor in Mouse Fetal Development First Floor, ASL Learn about hedgehog proteins that are important in fetal mouse gonad development, and PTHrP which is a member of this signaling pathway. The goal of this research project was to look for the expression of PTHrP and PTH/PTHrP receptors in fetal mouse gonads. An ACES James Scholar project presented by Abrigail Sasse (Beason, IL). Psuedorabies Virus in Swine Trigeminal Ganglion First Floor, ASL Discover a study researching if a certain strand of the pseudorabies virus can reach and be expressed more quickly in swine trigeminal ganglion. An ACES James Scholar project presented by Ted Johnson (Naperville, IL). Swine Wean-Finish Facility First Floor, ASL Experience a swine wean-finish facility, made for an Animal Ecology class under Dr. Johnson. It includes a barn, pens, model pigs and even battery operated heating lamps.
