The 25-miIlion volt Betatron at the College of Medicine is being used for research in cancer a n d for the t r e a t m e n t oi h u m a n cancer. O n e of many research investigations is a study of the n e u r o p a t h o l o g i e s ! effects of the Betatron on human beings and experimental animals. An Achieve ment Fund g r a n t of $1,000 to Dr. A r t h u r A r n o l d of the D e p a r t m e n t of N e u r o l o g y a n d N e u r o l o g i c a l S u r g e r y has helped to s u p p o r t this w o r k . Dr. A r n o l d is s h o w n at right adjusting the beam-directing m e c h a n i s m of the Betatron.
