It is difficult to determine what the future will be with reference to attendance. However, it is probable that the point of mtftfr"11"1 enrollment has been reached. Attendance has decreased in other engineering schools; end at Illinois it appears that the broadening of general university work is attracting students to otherfieldswho would otherwise have entered the college. The influence of the new college of commerce and business administration is especially strong. But the demands of the engineering profession will probably reassert themselves.
