It was strange to be having a summer Unas. Wayne S. Yenawine, B S. '34 M.A. ^ 8 and Mrs. Yenawine announce the birth of a son Gardner Drew born February 18, 1939. Mr. Yenawine is s on the staff of the University of Illinois Library. Bertha Hill Cooley, B.S.. '34, is now living at 4617 Chanbliss Avenue KnoxvilK, Tenn., where Dr. Cooley is teaching at the University. Sister Mary Gratia Robinson, S.S. '34 and S.S. '35, died August 9 1937 She wa> connected with O u r Lady of the Lake College at San Antonio at the time of her death. Elva Curtis, B.S. '35, is librarian of the Senior High School Library at Ponca City, Okla. Wilma Bennett, S.S. 2 8 and *35, resigned her position as librarian of the La Porte, Ind., High School Library t o accept a position in the Pittsburgh, Pa Technical High School Library. Robert S. Alvarez, B.S. '35, is district supervisor of the W.P.A. State Library Service Project at Decatur, 111. Last year he was studying at the University of Chicago t o w a r d s his Ph.D. in Library Science, and passed his "prelims" before taking this position. Catherine M. Wick, B.S. '35, resigned her position in the spring at the Decatur, 111., High School Library, to become reference librarian at the Peoria, 111., Public Library. Henry J. W a l t e m a d e , B.S. '35, M.A. '38, resigned his position at the University of Illinois Library in the order department the first of July. He spent the summer touring Europe. Upon his return to the States, he began his new duties as associate librarian of the University of Colorado Library, Boulder. Philip J. Stone, B.S. '35, was married to Catherine Stone of Santa Monica, Calif., in August. Mr. Stone is doing advisory service in the Public Library at Washington, D. C. H. Dean Stallings, B.S. '35, librarian of South Dakota State College, Brookings, and Mrs. Stallings announce the birth of a son, Michael Harris, May 24, 1938. Rose McGlennon, B.S. '35, is now Mrs. Noble, according to recent information received by the Library School office. Mrs. Noble has resigned her position as librarian of the Senior High School Library, Rockford, 111., to become librarian of the Roycemore Private School for Girls at Evanston, 111. Carol Conklin Lind, B.S. '35, has resigned her W.P.A. position at East St. Louis, 111., to become cataloger of the Historical Library at Springfield, 111. Irel H. H o d g e s , B.S. '35, of Sewanee University, spent from the early part of lime until August this summer touring Europe. Emily O. Garnett, U.S. '35, M.A. '37, has resigned her position in the reference department of the University of Illinois Library, to become head of the reference department of the White Plains, N. Y., Public Library. he started her new duties January 1, 1939. Ruth L. Archer, B.S. '36, resigned her position as librarian ot the Junior and Senior High School, Union Springs Ala to become W . R A Supervisor in Area 5, Mississippi. Her address will be 2811-8th Street, Meridian, Miss. Gracie Fern Latimer, B.S. '36, will catalog ft! the Redford School for Girls, Kl Paso, Tex., during the summer of 1939. Edith Foster, B.S. '36, has resigned her position as junior cataloger at the University of Nebraska Library, Lincoln, to become cataloger of the e b r a s k a U n i o n Catalog under W.P.A. and the sponsorship of Nebraska
