No Transfer Credit in Courses Passed Here f A student who has passed a course st the Unirer Isity of Illinois may not be giren credit by transfer for the same course taken elsewhere. 46. Correspondence Courses Credit for correspondence work taken with institutions in Class A may be allowed, but only on the approval of the Dean of the College concerned. After matriculation a student may count toward his decree as much as sixty semester hours of credit earned in correspondence study in subjects passed with grades of C or higher. 47. Undergraduate Credit for Service and for Education in the Armed Forces 1. Credit in military science equivalent to basic R.O.T.C (4 semester hours), required physical education and hygiene, will be approved when av person, honorably discharged, presents evidence of not less than six months of active service. Additional credit in military science equivalent to advanced R.O.T.C. (12 semester hours) may be granted where in the judgment of the Committee the service record warrants such action. Extended^ overseas service, earning a commission while in active service, or other prolonged meritorious service involving substantial responsibility, will be considered by the Committee in awarding this additional credit. 2. The Committee will recognize for credit the general educational placement examinations and the aminations in special fields given by the Armed Forces Institute, upon receipt of official certification from the Institute. The Committee urges men in the services to take advantage of the correspondence study courses of college grade offered by the Armed Forces Institute, and before demobilization to take the various tests tor competence in college fields which the Institute will make available in all the services. A student who bai not taken the tests of the Armed Forces Institute before demobilization may take these or similar tests at the University of Illinois. 3. Work satisfactorily \i ed while on active di y in a unit of the Army or Navy (including the Marine Corps) College Training Program will he a pi 1 for college credit in so far as it is applicable to the student s chosen curriculum.
