MINING CONFERENCE At the Fuel Conference held at the University of Illinois in March, 1909, two resolutions were passed, one favoring the establishment of a Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Illinois and another calling for other fuel conferences in the future. T h e dedication of the Mining Laboratory offers a particularly appropriate time for a second conference, which will be held after the formal dedicatory exercises are completed, as scheduled below.
