MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS October 2 1 , 1948 The October meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, 1948, at the Illini Center, in the LaSalle Hotel, in Chicago, according to the following schedule: 9:30 a.m. — Executive session as in Committee of the Whole. 4:30 p.m. — Open session. The following members were present: President Fornof, General Davis, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Livingston, Dr. Luken, Mr. McKelvey, Mr. McLaughlin, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Williamson. President Stoddard was present; also Vice-President A. C. Ivy, Provost C. R. Griffith, Assistant to the President A. J. Janata, Secretary H. E. Cunningham, Treasurer I. L. Porter, Comptroller Lloyd Morey, Legal Counsel W. E. Britton; and, during part of the day, Mr. Newton C. Farr and Professor W. C. Huntington, Chairman of the Building Program Committee. 135
