1945] UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 495 The Board discussed with Dr. Willard and Dr. Stoddard the actual time that Dr. Stoddard should take office, and it was agreed as fair and satisfactory to all interests that Dr. Stoddard should take charge of the affairs of the University on July I, 1946, and that Dr. Willard should be allowed a vacation with full pay during July and August, 1946, and be retired on September 1, 1946, with the title of Professor of Heating and Ventilation, and President, Emeritus. On motion of Mrs. Grigsby, the Secretary was instructed to express to the chairmen and members of the committees the appreciation of the Board for their substantial and excellent work during the past fourteen months.
