MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS October 21, 1940 With Executive Committee Meeting of October 2 1 , 1 9 4 0 The October meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, at io o'clock a.m. on Monday, October 21, 1940. When the Board convened, the following members were present: President Pogue, Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Williamson. President Willard was present; also Mr. A. J. Janata, Assistant to the President, Professor Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, Mr. C. S. Havens, Director of the Physical Plant Department, Professor Coleman R. Griffith, Director of the Bureau of Institutional Research, Professor W. C. Huntington, Chairman of the Building Committee, and Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary. The Board recessed. 87
