MESSAGE FROM LADY BIRD JOHNSON (Conveyed in a telegram to Margaret R. Fox, Chairman, Technical Program Committee, on June 19, 1964)

How sorry I am to miss the opportunity to join in the First International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists -- I know it will be a most informative and rewarding experience. In this challenging time women are meeting today's needs and preparing for the future as never before, and it is gratifying to realize that in such highly technical fields as yours women are devoting their great talents and abilities. Please extend my very best wishes for the success of the Conference. Sincerely,

Lady Bird Johnson
