1962] UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 1501 Following this presentation and discussion by members of the Board, on motion of Mr. Swain, the budget was approved, the President of the University was authorized to take the actions requested in his recommendations, and the necessary appropriations required in the budget were made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Harewood, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Wilkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Dilliard, Governor Kerner. The details of the budget appear as an appendix to these minutes on page 1S9S. BUDGET OF THE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION FOR 1 9 6 2 - 6 3 (2) The Director of Intercollegiate Athletics submits, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association, the budget for the Association for 1962-63 which is summarized as follows with comparative figures for the preceding year: 1961-62 (Revised) 1962-63 Income SI 097 108 SI 114 175 Appropriations _ 1 266 152 1 108 280 Excess of Income Over Appropriations —169 044 5 895 The budget has been examined and approved by the Executive Vice-President and Provost and the Vice-President and Comptroller. I recommend that this budget be approved and that the President of the University be authorized to make such changes and adjustments, including approval of new appointments and acceptances of resignations, as are necessary and recommended by the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association within the total income realized. AWARD OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT CERTIFICATES (3) The Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate of Certified Public Accountant be awarded, under Section 5 of the Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended, to the following candidates who have presented evidence that they are holders of valid and unrevoked Certified Public Accountant certificates obtained by passing a standard written examination in another state or territory of the United States and who qualify in all other respects under this provision Name BERNARD FRANCIS EGAN HERBERT B. MURIEL CHRISTISON, Associate Director of the Krannert Art Museum, with rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 1962, at an annual salary of $11,000 ( D Y ) .
