SALARY O F T H E PRESIDENT OF T H E UNIVERSITY (40) President Hughes, noting that in acting on the internal budget for 1973-74 provision had not been made for adjustment in the salary of the President of the University, reported on informal consultations he had had with members of the Board and made the following recommendation: That in the light of the inordinately successful first two years of President Corbally's service to the University, an appropriate salary adjustment was in order and that accordingly the President's salary be increased by 5 per cent, from $50,000 per year to $52,500 per year, effective September 1, 1973. O n motion of Mr. Swain, the recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr, Forsyth, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Howard, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Neal, Mrs. Rader, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, D r . Bakalis, Mr. Steger, Governor Walker, ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD FUTURE MEETINGS President H u g h e s called attention to the schedule of regular meetings for the remainder of the year: October 17, Urbana-Champaign; November 2 1 , Medical Center; December 19, Allerton House, President Hughes also announced that an executive session had been requested and would be convened after a brief recess to consider reports on pending litigation.
