MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS October 17, 1942 The October meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Chicago Illini Union Building, 715 South Wood Street, Chicago, at 10 o'clock a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 1942. The following members were present: President Meyer, Mr. Davis, Mr. Fornof, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Livingston; Mr. Adams took his place with the Board during the forenoon. President Willard was present; also Mr. A. J. Janata, Assistant to the President, Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary, Mr. Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, Mr. C. S. Havens, Director of the Physical Plant Department, and Mr, J. F. Wright, Director of Public Information. On request of President Meyer, President Willard introduced Mr. Benjamin F. Affleck, Mr. Otto Beich, and Mr. Ronald M. Kimball, members of the General Advisory Committee, who sat with the Board during the entire day. MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of August 29, 1942. On motion of Mr. Karraker, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 57 to 96 above. 97
