BOAKD OF TRUSTEES MATTERS PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT DANIELS

T h e Board considered the following matters presented by the Acting President of the University.

REAPPROPRIATION OF UNEXPENDED BALANCES

(1) A recommendation that the following balances which it is estimated will lapse on June 30,1934, be reappropriated for the fiscal year beginning July 1,1934: Self-supporting Funds Accountancy Committee ..... , £37 137 Entrance Examinations i 000 Dairy Creamery 7 701 Home Economics Cafeteria 956 Pumell Revolving I 308 Extension Revolving 12 173 Military Clothing and Equipment 3 532 Military Overcoats and Gloves 4 330 Visual Aid Service 70 University Chorus 76 Dental Graduate Orthodontia 582 ?68 865 Special Appropriations for Uncompleted Activities Agricultural Industrial Research 2 386 Sewage Research 2 530 4 916 Total $73 78i On motion of Mrs. Freeman, these balances were reappropriated, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Barr, Mr. Barrett, Mrs. Freeman, Mrs. Hopkins, Mr. Karraker, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Trees, Mr. Williams; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Horner.

SUBSIDY FOR SYMPHONY CONCERTS

(2) A request from the University Concert and Entertainment Board for a subsidy of $1,000 for 1934-35 to enable it to offer two symphony orchestra concerts in place of one. Funds are available in the appropriation for Public Functions for this purpose if needed. If the concerts should be well enough patronized to make this subsidy unnecessary, the subsidy would not be used. On motion of M r . Trees, this subsidy w a s a u t h o r i z e d .

RESIDENCE HALL FUNDS

(3) A recommendation from the Comptroller that hereafter any surplus from the operation of the women's residence halls, over and above current operation and maintenance expenses and a suitable reserve for maintenance and replacement, be carried to the general income account of the University. On motion of Dr. Meyer, this recommendation was approved.

LEAVE O F ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR OTTO F. KAMPMEIER

(4) A request from Professor Otto F. Kampmeier, Head of the Department of Anatomy in the College of Medicine, for a sabbatical leave of absence for one-half year on one-half pay during the second semester of 1934-35, under the statutes of the University. The Dean of the College of Medicine recommends approval and I concur. I recommend that this leave be for six months beginning March I, 1935. On motion of Mr. Armstrong, this leave was granted.
