THE SALARY BUDGET Explanatory N o t e s Unless otherwise indicated in the Budget: 1. All appointments begin September 1, 1934. 2. C. S. (Civil Service) appointments are for one year unless otherwise specified. Appointees to stenographic and clerical positions are assigned to departments at the convenience of the University. The University reserves the right to change such assignments during the year if the needs of the University and of the departments require such action. 3. Salaries of positions of the rank of Associate and above are paid in twelve equal monthly installments; salaries of other ranks, in ten equal monthly installments. 4. The service required in all positions in experiment stations and bureaus of research, and in research positions in other departments, is for a full year of twelve months, with allowance of one month for vacations, and salaries are paid in twelve equal monthly installments. 5. The service required in all other positions—administrative, clerical, and service positions—is for a full year of twelve months, with allowance for vacations, and salaries are paid in twelve equal monthly installments.
