10. M r s . Freeman reported that she h a d inspected t h e traffic on Green Street where it crosses t h e campus, a n d urged that action be taken to secure a change in t h e route so that it should not cross the campus.

ILLINOIS U N I O N BUILDING

At this point, M r . Robert B . Browne w a s heard on t h e proposal to secure funds from the Public W o r k s Administration to house the Illinois Union. On motion of M r . Trees, this matter w a s referred to t h e President of the Board, the President of t h e University, a n d t h e University Counsel.

POWER PLANT DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Armstrong, for t h e Committee on Buildings a n d Grounds, presented a report on the condition of t h e power plant. On motion of M r . Trees, President Daniels a n d M r . Armstrong were requested to make a comprehensive study of t h e power plant and related activities and to report their recommendations to the Board.

DATE OF FEBRUARY MEETING

O n motion of M r . Armstrong, t h e Board voted to hold the February meeting at the University, in Urbana, at 10 o'clock a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 1934. BEQUEST OF MARTHA BELLE BARRETT T h e Secretary reported for record t h e receipt of a copy of t h e will of the late M a r t h a Belle Barrett, containing t h e following item:

"The remaining $5,000.00 of said amount at the death of my said sister Evaleen B. Pratz shall go to the University of Illinois to establish a scholarship in American History to be known as T h e Martha Barrett Scholarship In American History. I request that the principal be retained intact by the University and that the income be used for a scholarship in American History according to rules and conditions prescribed by the University."

( M a r t h a Belle Barrett of K a n s a s City, Missouri, died in April, 1930; by her will, the Fidelity National Bank a n d T r u s t Company of Kansas City w a s made t r u s t e e ; this trustee having resigned, legal steps are in progress to make the Union National Bank in K a n s a s City the trustee.)
