APPROPRIATION FOR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT (2) A recommendation that an appropriation of $700 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to the College of Medicine for the purchase of a gas anaesthesia apparatus and a carbondioxide oxygen outfit to replace equipment which is worn out.

On motion of Mr. Barr, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Barr, Mr. Barrett, Mrs. Freeman, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Williams; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Hopkins, Mr. Horner, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Trees.

APPROPRIATION FOR RADIO STATION EQUIPMENT (3) A recommendation that an appropriation of $1200, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be made from the Reserve and Contingent F u n d to the Radio Station, for additional expenses which will be incurred during the year due to necessary mechanical changes in the equipment and slightly increased operating costs.

On motion of Dr. Meyer, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Barr, Mr. Barrett, Mrs. Freeman, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Williams; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Hopkins, Mr. Horner, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Trees.

DEATH BENEFIT PROFESSOR D. K. DODGE

(4) A report of the death on October 13, 1933, of Dr. D. K. Dodge, Professor of English, Emeritus, who served on the faculty of the University from September 1, 1892, to September I, 1928, when he retired after thirty-six years of service. T h e Comptroller has paid his designated beneficiary the sum of $1,000, which was the death benefit payable under the rules of the Board and the terms of his employment.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR R. H. WILCOX (5) A recommendation that sabbatical leave of absence be granted to Associate Professor R. H . Wilcox, of the Department of Agricultural Economics in the College of Agriculture, on half salary for the academic year 1934-35, under the rules of the Board governing such leaves. T h e Department can carry on his work without any increase in the budget. O n m o t i o n of M r s . F r e e m a n , t h i s l e a v e w a s g r a n t e d . LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MR. G. L. JORDAN (6) A report that Mr. G. L. Jordan, Assistant to the Dean and Director of the College of Agriculture, Agricultural Experiment Station, and Agricultural E x tension Service, has been given leave of absence without pay from October 26 to February I, 1934, to assist the Federal F a r m Credit Administration, under the direction of Professor H. C. M. Case, who is now on leave and is working for that organization.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MR. E. G. JOHNSON (7) A report that Mr. E. G. Johnson, Extension Specialist in Agricultural Engineering, has been given leave of absence without pay for a minimum of thirty days and a maximum of ninety days from November I, 1933, to assist the Federal Land Bank of St. Louis in some appraisal work. T h i s report w a s received for record. At this point, M r s . H o p k i n s took h e r place with the Board.
