FIRE INSURANCE ON CHICAGO DEPARTMENTS (16) A report that the Comptroller has been authorized to renew thefireinsurance, which expires in M a y and July of this year, on the old medical and dental buildings and contents, pursuant to the action of the Board of Trustees on October 29, 1926 (Minutes, page 152), directing the Comptroller and the Supervising Architect to handle this matter. The Supervising Architect valued the property, the value of the contents was appraised, and the insurance value, based on 8 0 % co-insurance, was fixed at $133,000 on the Medical Building and $120,000 on the Dental Building, including contents in both cases. In order that in the future premiums on this insurance will not become due in a single year, policies will be obtained for one-fifth of the total amount, to run from one to five years, and as these policies expire they will be renewed annually for five-year periods. Proposals for this insurance were received, and on the basis of policies for one-fifth of the total amount the premiums quoted are as follows: Otto E. Seiler, Chicago $1 265 00 W . A. Alexander and Company, Chicago 1 809 72 M c K e y and Poague, Chicago 1 844 60 The insurance was placed with the low bidder, Otto E. Seiler of Chicago, who will insure with the Farmer's Fire Insurance Company of York, Pennsylvania, and the Traveler's Fire Insurance Company of Hartford, Connecticut. Funds for this insurance are provided in the budget for physical plant operations in the Chicago Departments. This report w a s received for record. REPORT ON PARR COKING PROCESS (17) A report on the present status of the Parr coking process to supplement the report made at the meeting of the Board on April 20 (Minutes, page 556). This report w a s received for record. O n motion of M r . Barr, the C o m m i t t e e o n Patents w a s requested to confer with D r . Leighton a n d others with respect to this process. ASSIGNMENT OF PATENT RIGHTS (18) A report of the following assignments to the University of patent rights: 1. Inventions for improving the method in removing SOs from flue gases, disclosed in Cases I and 2, Canadian Applications, Serials Nos. 388,300 and 388,301, which assignments were recorded in the Canadian Patent Office on April 22, 1932, receiving therein Nos. 180,987 and 180,988 respectively. This assignment has been made by Dr. Henry F. Johnstone, Special Research Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering.
