MR. CAPRON'S RESIGNATION ACCEPTED O n motion of Mr. Trees, the resignation of Mr. Hazen S. Capron as Treasurer was accepted, to take effect when his successor is elected and qualified, subject to Mr. Capron's giving a full and complete accounting as such Treasurer in such manner and at such time as the Board of Trustees may direct. MR. FRANK M. GORDON ELECTED TREASURER O n motion of Mr. Trees, Mr. Frank M . Gordon of Chicago was elected Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois to serve out the unexpired portion of the term of Mr. Hazen S. Capron. and i was voted that Mr. Gordon shall qualify by furnishing a satist factory bond in the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000), which bond shall be approved by the Board of Trustees. O n motion of Mr. Barrett, the Finance Committee was requested to see that the Treasurer provide a satisfactory bond, and to refer the bond to the Board for approval. ADJOURNMENT TO FEBRUARY 10 O n motion of Mr. Trees, it was voted that when the Board adjourns, i adjourn to meet at 2 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, February io, 1932, t at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago. MATTERS PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT CHASE The Board considered the following matters presented by the President of the University. LEAVES OF ABSENCE ON ACCOUNT OF ILLNESS (1) A report that sick leaves of absence on full pay have been given the following members of the staff: Professor L. M . Larson, of the Department of History, during the last two months of thefirstsemester. Miss Eda A. Jacobsen, Assistant Professor of Clothing, from January 12 to February 8, 1932. Wesley Swanson, Instructor in English, from January 13 until such time as he is able to resume his duties after the beginning of the second semester. Dr. E. Muriel Poggi, Associate in Geology, from January 18 until such time as she is able to resume her duties during the second semester. Dr. Victor A. Hoersch, Associate in Mathematics, for three months from December 7, 1931. G. L. Jordan, Assistant to the Dean of the College of Agriculture, one month from January 12. O n motion of M r . Trees, this action w a s approved. RELEASE OF DR. DAVID KINLEY FROM CALL TO DUTY (2) A request from Dr. David Kinley that he be excused from any call to duty from February 1 to June I or until his return from the Oriental trip which he plans to take in the interests of the Chicago Century of Progress Exposition. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this request w a s granted. SUMMER SESSION SALARIES (3) A request for authority to make up the 1932 Summer Session budget on the basis of a salary rate of 15 per cent of the annual salaries for the ranks involved with a minimum salary of $250 and a maximum salary of $810 for full-time service. O n motion of M r . Williams, this authority w a s granted.
