OF JOURNALISM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS (6) The_ University Senate recommends adoption of the following new requirements for admission to the School of Journalism, effective February, 1932, in place of the present requirements: A candidate for admission to the School of Journalism must be able to matriculate in one of the undergraduate colleges of the University and must offer, in addition, 60 semester hours of work in one of the established undergraduate curricula, exclusive of physical education, hygiene, and military. A candidate who seeks admission from another institution must offer the same amount of work in an established curriculum of that institution. O n m o t i o n of M r s . Grigsby, this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s adopted. COLLEGE OF FINE AND APPLIED ARTS ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS (7) The University Senate recommends adoption of the following new requirements for admission to the College of Fine and Applied Arts, effective September, 1932: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. List A : English (composition and literature) three units, Algebra one unit, Plane Geometry one unit; required of all applicants for admission. 2. List B: At least six units from the group of general electives (including languages, the physical and biological sciences, and the social sciences). j. List C: Not more than four units from the list of special electives, which includes commercial subjects, home economics, manual training, agriculture, drawing, astronomy, geology, general science, and music; provided that for admission to the School of Music the maximum from this list shall be two units in addition to two units of Applied Music. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VARIOUS CURRICULA 1. Curricula in Architecture: Solid and Spherical Geometry, one-half unit, and Advanced Algebra, one-half unit; provided that applicants deficient in either one or both of these special requirements, but who meet the requirements for admission to any other curriculum of the College of Fine and Applied Arts, may be admitted to the curricula in Architecture for one year during which time they must make up these deficiencies. 2. Curricula in Painting and Landscape Architecture: Latin, Greek, French, German, or Spanish, two units; both must be in the same language. 3. School of Music: Latin, Greek, French, German, or Spanish, two units; both must be in the same language. Applied Music, two units, in lieu of two of the four units of List C of the general requirements. O n m o t i o n of M r s . H o p k i n s , this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s adopted. CERTIFICATES FOR NON-GRADUATES OF THE UNIVERSITY (8) The Senate recommends that certificates, including transcripts of records, be issued by the University, on application, to students who have completed satisfactorily, as certified by the several colleges or schools, two years or more of scholastic work at the University. O n motion of M r . A r m s t r o n g , this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s adopted. FEES IN THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE (9) A recommendation that the President of the University and the Dean of the College of Medicine be authorized tofixlaboratory fees in that College from time to time according to the cost of laboratory materials used in the courses. Such laboratory fees shall be within the total fees established by the Board of Trustees on October 17, 1930 (Minutes, page 107), or any subsequent changes which m a y be authorized by the Board.
