Comptroller This report w a s received for record. AGREEMENTS FOR COOPERATIVE INVESTIGATIONS (21) A report of the approval of agreements for the following cooperative investigations: 1. Agreement with the Gibson Canning Company of Gibson City, Illinois, for a study by the Agricultural Experiment Station of the factors which determine the best development of certain types of vegetables. This agreement is for a period of three years, beginning January 15, 1931, and the company agrees to pay the sum of five thousand dollars per year on or before thefirstday of February each year during the period of the contract, in addition to furnishing all land, labor, seed, and other materials required for carrying on this investigation. 2. Agreement with the Portland Cement Association and the Concrete Masonry Association for an investigation of the stability of concrete masonry walls by the Engineering Experiment Station. T h e agreement is for a period of one year, beginning January 1, 1931, and the cooperating agencies agree to pay the s u m of five thousand dollars to cover the expenses of this investigation. These agreements are of the form and character of similar agreements hitherto approved by the Board. These agreements were approved. PROPOSED JOURNALISM BUILDING (22) A report that an investigation of the work in Journalism did not show that the proposed building was one of the most pressing needs of the University at this time. This report was received for record. PROPOSED APPROPRIATION FOR ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (23) A request from the Alumni Association for an appropriation of $4600 to increase the usefulness of the Association. Action o n this request w a s deferred.
