112 COLLEGE OF SCIENCE Students who desire to make the most of the offerings in geology are advised to take chemistry in the freshman year, begin their mineralogy in the fall term of the sophomore year, take geology in the winter and spring terms of that year and the fall term of the junior year, take mineralogy 2 or paleontology I during the winter and spring terms of the junior year, and the remaining subjects together with thesis investigation (geology 2) during the senior year. SPECIAL COURSE PRELIMINARY TO MEDICINE To students who wish to' select studies leading to a degree in natural science as a liberal preparation for a course in medicine, the following course or its substantial equivalent is recommended: FIRST YEAR 1.
