ilar to those of the special zoological course by taking, instead of major zoology, the botanical courses 1 to 4 in the second and third years, preferably preceded by zoology 6 in the freshman year, and followed by botany 5 (thesis work). Students who desire to make the most of the offerings in geology are advised to take chemistry in the freshman year, begin their mineralogy in the fall term of the sophomore year, take geology in the winter and spring terms of that year and the fall term of the junior year, take mineralogy 2, or paleontology 1 during the winter and spring terms of the junior year, and the remaining subjects together with thesis investigation (geology 2) during the senior year. SPECIAL COURSES PRELIMINARY TO MEDICINE Students desiring a course of study leading to a degree in natural science as a liberal preparation for a course in medicine are advised to take the list of studies required for graduation (16 credits), together with zoology 3, embryology (zoology s), physiology 1 (or 1 and 2); botany 6, bacteriology (botany 2), physics 1, 3, mineralogy 1, geology 4, pharmacology 1, psychology 3, and logic (philosophy 8). This course may be conveniently arranged as follows:
