Funds as required will be authorized by a contract work order which will be charged against funds allocated for each project. It is recommended that the comptroller be authorized to approve work orders under these contracts for projects whose cost would not exceed the limits established by the Illinois Purchasing Act. A schedule of the bids received has been filed with the secretary of the board for record.

On motion of Ms. Reese, these contracts were awarded by the following vote: Aye, Dr. Bacon, Mr. Boyle, Mrs. Calder, Mr. Grabowski, Mr. Lamont, Ms. Reese, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Wolff; no, none; absent, Governor Edgar, Mrs. Gravenhorst. (The student advisory vote was: Aye, Mr. Forbes; absent, Ms. Kelly.)

Contract, Excavating, Grading, and Hauling, Urbana

(26) On April 12, 1990, the Board of Trustees approved the award of a cost-plus contract to Dean Evans Company, Champaign, for excavating, grading, and hauling at the Urbana campus for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1991, with an option to extend the contract from July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992, under the same terms and conditions. T h e president of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends that the option described now be exercised.
