going patient care, and discharge. He will also be responsible for teaching appropriate medical and nursing staff and performance of medical administrative functions. Faculty appointments and clinical privileges will be granted to Dr. Tatooles and his associates in accordance with College of Medicine and Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws. UIH will bill and collect for patient care services rendered as it now does. To offset the cost of contract physicians, a bill for professional services will be rendered through the Medical Service Plan; funds collected will be transferred to the Hospital Income Fund. T h e total amount for the one-year contract with Dr. Tatooles will be $400,000, effective November 1, 1990. T h e source of the funds is the Hospital Income Fund. T h e vice president for business and finance concurs. I recommend approval. Mrs. Calder questioned t h e salary for t h e individual who is to h e a d this service. Dean Moss replied that t h e salary, $ 4 0 0 , 0 0 0 , is t h e marketplace salary for such an individual.
