MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES -or THE- UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS July 31, 1917 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, on Tuesday, July 31, 1917, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the Secretary on July 25, 1917: On the call of the President, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, on Tuesday, July 31, 1917, at 12 o'clock noon, to consider such matters as the committees of the Board and the President of the University may submit, and such other matters as may be duly presented. When the Board convened, the following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Taggart, Mr. Trimble, Mr. Ward, Miss Watson. President James was present; and also, during part of the day, Deans K. C. Babcock, Eugene Davenport, and C. R. Richards. MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of July 17, 1917. On motion of Mr. Carr, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 397 to 448 above.
