28 UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. [Sept. 20 5. Request for an appropriation of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for iron shelving to provide for the storage of duplicate books in the library. On motion of Mrs. Busey and by the following vote the recommendation was approved: Ayes, Messrs. Abbott, Blair, Crebs, Grout, Hatch, and Moore and Mrs. Bahrenbnrg, Mrs. Busey, and Mrs. E v a n s ; noes, n o n e ; absent, Governor Deneen and Mr. Meeker. RE-ADJUSTMENTS IN THE COLLEGE OP ENGINEERING. 12. A request from Dean W. F. M. Goss as to certain re-adjustments in the Engineering College involving a different assignment of duties between the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of General Engineering Drawing, with the recommendation that it be referred to the Committee on the Engineering College with power to act. On motion of Mr. Blair and by the following vote the recommendation was adopted: Ayes, Messrs. Abbott, Blair, Crebs, Grout, Hatch, and Moore and Mrs. Bahrenbnrg, Mrs. Busey and Mrs. E v a n s ; noes, n o n e ; absent, Governor Deneen and Mr. Meeker. PROFESSOR BLEININGER'S SALARY. 13. A recommendation that the salary of Processor A. V. Bleininger, professor of Ceramics and director of the School of Ceramics, be fixed at $3,500.00 from Sept. 1, 1910. On motion of Mr. Grout and by the following vote Mr. Bleininger's salary was fixed as recommended: Ayes, Messrs. Blair, Crebs, Grout and Hatch, and Mrs. E v a n s ; no, Mrs. Bahrenburg; present and not voting, Messrs. Abbott and Moore and Mrs. Busey; absent, Governor Deneen and Mr. Meeker. ADVANCE OF B E N T . On motion of Mr. Hatch the comptroller was authorized, upon the recommendation of the Committee of the College of Medicine and the School of Pharmacy, to advance a part of the rent next due to the College of Physicians and Surgeons, of Chicago. INSPECTION OF N E I G H B O R I N G COLLEGES OF AGRICULTURE. The Committee on Agriculture presented the following report: CHICAGO, Sept. 19, 1910. To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: WHEREAS, a committee of representative farmers is being appointed to inquire into the needs of the College of Agriculture, not only with reference to present conditions, hut also with reference to probable conditions ten years ahead, and with a view to enlisting aid in its behalf; therefore be it • Resolved, That the Board of Trustees authorize its Committee on Agriculture to cooperate with said committee of farmers and, if deemed necessary to a clear understanding of the situation, to arrange for a trip of inspection and investigation of the neighboring colleges of agriculture..
