We compared all warrants paid during the quarter with the treasurer's record. We also abtained a certificate from the State Bank of Chicago, 111., certifying to the balance of cash on deposit to the credit of the treasurer at the close of business Dec. 31, 1911, as being $370,023.73.

President James presented a communication signed by three members of the Commission on Campus Plans, containing recommendations as to the location of the Armory, the Stock pavilion, and the Horticultural greenhouses: CHICAGO, I I I . , March 9, 1912.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your commission on Campus plans recommends that the Armory be located at the end of Fifth street, centering on Fifth, and approximately one hundred feet south of the north fence line of the Horticultural grounds.
