1911] PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OE TRUSTEES. BIDS FOR UNIFORMS. 91 6. A request from Major B. C. Morse, commandant, that the Board of Trustees appoint a committee with authority to advertise for receiving open bids for all articles of uniform, and to award the contracts for the same for two years to come, since the contract for cadets' uniforms closes with the present semester. I t was voted that the president of the Board of Trustees, the commandant, and the comptroller be appointed a committee with authority as specified. MODIFICATION OF COLLEGE OF MEDICINE LEASE. 7. A report that the officers of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois and the officers of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Chicago have signed the modification of the College of Medicine lease authorized by the board at the last meeting (see page 79 of the minutes of the meeting of Feb. 28, 1911), which modification consisted in striking out all reference to returning the schools mentioned in the lease to the College of Physicians and Surgeons in case the property of the College of Physicians and Surgeons should not be leased by the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois beyond the termination of the present lease, thus making it plain that the medical school belongs absolutely to the University of Illinois. This report was received for record. DATE OF ACCOUNTANCY EXAMINATIONS. 8. A recommendation from the University Committee on Accountancy that the Board of Trustees change the time for the annual examination for the degree of Certified Public Accountant from the • fir*st Monday in May to the fourth Tuesday in May. I t was voted t h a t this recommendation he approved. _ CERTIFIED FOR DEGREE OF C. P. A. 9. A communication, from Professor M. H. Robinson, secretary of the University Committee on Accountancy: Mar. 7, 1911. President Edmund J. James: MY DEAR MR. PRESIDENT—I beg to inform you that in accordance with the recommendation of the Board of Examiners of Public Accountants, under date of Feb. 2, 1911, the following persons, having received a grade of 75 or over in each of the subjects required by law, at the December, 1910, C. P. A. examination, are hereby certified to you for the certificate of Certified Public Accountant; namely, Albert Tolman Bacon, George Elliott Hutchison, Charles Heinrichs Langer and Francis Leigh Wood. As soon as the certificates have been prepared they will be presented to you for your approval. Yours very truly, M. H. ROBINSON, Secretary. I t was voted t h a t the President of the University be authorized to issue certificates to the persons named. APPROPRIATION ASKED FOR MEDICAL LABORATORIES. 10. A letter from Dr. D. A. K. Steele, actuary of the College of Medicine, asking that two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) additional be appropriated for the support of the laboratories of the College of Medicine through the present academic year.
