President James presented a letter from Professor Hopkins which had been sent to him by Dean Davenport, accompanied by a lease in triplicate for a tract of land which the Agronomy Departme-nt desired to lease for its purposes. These papers were referred to the president of the board. EXPERIMENT STATION WORK AWAY FROM THE UNIVERSITY. President James presented a letter from Dean Davenport with regard to advances of moneys from University funds to defray the expenses of persons at work on experiments carried on by the University away from_Urbana. This letter was referred to the Finance Committee on motion of, Mr. Hatch.
